FAQ
What is blended learning?
Online-based accelerated BSN programs, like the ABSN program at UST, combine online nursing theory coursework, hands-on skills and simulation labs at our ABSN program site, and clinical experiences at top healthcare facilities in the Houston metro area. This means you must be physically present for some aspects of our program when you attend your skill and simulations labs and clinical rotations at top healthcare facilities in the Houston metro area a few days each week.
When will I complete clinicals?
The specific locations and scheduling of your clinical rotations may vary, but ABSN students at UST generally begin clinical practice hours in the first semester of the program.
How will I know if I have to complete prerequisites?
Before enrolling in the ABSN program, you must complete or show you have completed 10 prerequisite courses within our specified grade requirements through any accredited college, university, or community college. An ABSN admissions advisor can review your unofficial transcripts with you over the phone and determine if any of your prior undergraduate credits count toward this requirement. The prerequisite requirements do not have to be completed prior to submitting your application.
How do I start my nursing school application?
This process begins with speaking with an ABSN admissions advisor, who will first verify your eligibility for our ABSN program. If they find you meet our admissions requirements, they’ll help you navigate the rest of the admissions process step-by-step, ensuring you don’t miss any application deadlines or forget to submit any necessary paperwork or documentation.
