About University Of St. Thomas Houston

You may have heard of ABSN@UST, our 12-month accelerated nursing program based in Houston. If you’re considering making a bold move for your future and pursuing your nursing education through University of St. Thomas, we’d love to share some information about our University’s history and beginnings.

Founded by the Basilian Fathers in 1947, the University of St. Thomas Houston is known as Houston’s Catholic University. While remaining committed to the religious, ethical and intellectual traditions of faith-based education, we welcome students of all faiths as well as those of no faith.

As such, the University of St. Thomas maintains a proud tradition of fostering engagement in a collaborative community grounded in the liberal arts, offering more than 35 undergraduate degree programs and more than 20 graduate programs across six academic programs:
