The Carol and Odis Peavy School of Nursing has had a tradition of educating nurses academically, ethically and spiritually in nursing practice as a compassionate healing ministry since the University’s founding in 1947. Over the years, we’ve also developed a reputation of graduating nurses who are highly sought after in the field — an increasingly hot commodity given the growing nursing shortage here in Texas and across the nation.

That’s why we believe whole-heartedly in extending our University’s legacy through our 12-month ABSN program, called ABSN@UST. It offers a quality, inclusive curriculum that readies students to enter the nursing workforce as caring, competent caregivers — sooner rather than later.

Designed as a second-degree option for adult learners who want to change professional paths quickly, it features a hybrid learning model that combines online and onsite instruction and equips students with key nursing theory knowledge and skills over three full-time semesters.

By enrolling in ABSN@UST, you can expect to not only gain the clinical knowledge and skills necessary to enter the field, but also the compassionate care qualities that bestow nursing leaders. We look forward to helping you think big and achieve your career goals.
